About timcat tales

Africa is a place that fascinates folk, worldwide, and these tales are dotted with African mystique, humour, and sometimes, a whiff of quirkiness. They are about various wild animals living in the African bushland, the forests and savannas...and about these wild creatures' interaction with the domestic animals on the Gumede family’s farm.

The tales are for children from about 5-11 years old, and they will amuse adults listening with their families. The descriptive text is both fun and educational, on different levels: about wildlife, about friendship and relationships, about courage and compassion. They are ideal for school discussions on natural history, English language, or social skills.

Catherine and Tim share a long-standing friendship. They’ve collaborated, blending their talents to write this series of tales – which they are publishing initially as Audio Books (e-Books may be available later next year). The tales are situated ‘somewhere in the south of Africa’, and the South African bush, the culture and the animals have been an integral part of Cat's and Tim’s growing up.

TIM WELLS: AUTHOR AND VOICE ARTIST

Tim Wells – who is based in Bath, UK with his family – is an accomplished professional voice artist, as well as an experienced actor, performer, singer and songwriter.

He is the voice behind all the wonderful characters created in these timcat tales. Formerly from South Africa, Tim studied Drama and English (BA, HDE) at the University of Natal, Durban and has taken leading roles in many productions, both dramatic and musical. He also has recorded three albums of his own rock-pop material. In January 2012, in Durban, The Tim Wells Blues Band launched their debut CD, where it was enthusiastically received. Recently, Tim was involved with the Theatre Royal Bath Engage production Blackout, featuring 3 plays written for audio only and performed live, to a blindfolded audience. The plays required performers to be voice actors as well as orchestrators of sound effects, creating an audio landscape equivalent to a radio play production.
